A significant number of employers aim to have more than 20 percent of their workforce permanently working remotely. About half of the country’s employees expect to work from home offices (telecommute) in the future.

About a third of the employers asked in recent surveys say they are hiring more casual workers. Although they do so on short-term contracts to replace their previous stock of permanent employees. Cost savings are cited as one of the benefits behind hiring staff on a freelance or contract basis.
